Today we are delighted to announce that we are in the process of developing a new free URL shortening service for Raspberry Pi enthusiasts – RasP.is. Why? You ask. Simply because we can!

We found a cool, short domain which will appeal to Raspberry Pi users across the world as well as everyone else who ever needs to shorten an URL. We also have space on our web server and thought we would fill it with some cool stuff.

Above you can see a screen capture from the holding page of RasP.is as it currently stands, however the overall feel of that holding page will be carried forward to the full site along with a brand new logo which is currently being developed and will shortly be complete. As well as shortening URLs there will be a host of other features including stats and link tracking in order that you can get a feel for who is looking at your links, when and why.

The aim is to launch the service around mid-September (or sooner if possible) and if you visit the holding page at RasP.is you can enter your email in order to receive an update and signup invitation when the service is launched.
